Tammie S. Hopper has been serving Lake County as Trustee since September of 1998. She is married to Larry Hopper and they have two children. They make their home in Ridgely, Tennessee.

Tammie Hopper recently named Outstanding Trustee of the Year “2010”.

Lake County Trustee, Tammie S. Hopper was recently named Outstanding Trustee Of the Year “2010” by the County Officials Association of Tennessee.

The association selects one Trustee from all 95 counties across the state to receive this award.  The person selected generally serves as a leader in their home county and as a professional of the highest caliber in the operation of their own County office.  Tammie has proven to do just that over the past 12 years serving as Lake County Trustee.

Tammie is a Certified Public Administrator. She is a member of the County Officials Association of Tennessee, past secretary of the Tennessee County Trustee’s Association and past president of the West Tennessee Trustee’s Association.   She is the Community Liaison Leader for the Lake County School Advisory Council. She completed the Lake County Leadership Program in 2004 and is an active member in the community.  She has served as a brownie leader for Girl Scouts Heart of the South for 2 years. She has been the emcee for the local Relay for Life Event for over 10 years.

Linda Barker has served as Chief Deputy Trustee since September of 1998. Linda's husband Shelby Barker served as Trustee for 8 years, County Mayor for 8 years and is currently serving as a County Commissioner.  Linda has brought many years of experience in County Government to the Trustee's Office.

Together, Tammie and Linda have strived to work together to run the Trustee’s Office as efficiently and professionally as possible with a common goal to serve the taxpayers of Lake County to the best of their ability.

The office continues to advance with technology. The Trustee’s office has worked closely with all county departments to computerize the warrant system. This service has made a tremendous impact on the book-keeping system required by the audit department, not only in the Trustee’s office, but the school system, highway department and all other county departments as well. It has affected every department in a very positive way.

Taxpayers are now able to make partial payments on county property taxes. This improvement has proven to be extremely beneficial to taxpayers.

One of the top priorities in the Trustee’s office is to inform the public of the State Tax Relief Program and to enroll as many eligible taxpayers in the program as possible.

The Levee Tax System has been computerized to save time as well as provide excellent book keeping records. This improvement has been well received by taxpayers that have property protected by the Lake County and Madrid Bend Levee systems.

Tammie and Linda are pleased to be able to offer this new on-line service to the taxpayers of Lake County. You are encouraged to stop by the office anytime with comments or concerns that you may have. They are here to serve you.

April Barber has recently joined our office serving as Deputy Trustee. We welcome April and her husband Drew to Lake County.  They moved here from Coldwater, MS in 2010 when Drew received a job working for the Department of Corrections in Tiptonville.  They have a son, Andrew and are expecting their second child in May.

April comes to the Trustee's office with excellent references and superb customer relations skills which is a must in any public office.

We are proud to have April on our staff and look forward to introducing her to our taxpayers this year.
